WHY IS MASTURBATION A SIN?
Anas (
Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that the messenger of Allah may the peace and blessings of Allah ta'ala be upon him said:
'The person who performs Nikah with his hands (i.e. masturbates) is cursed. (Tafseer Mazhari vol. 12 p. 94)
Hasan bin Arfah that Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:
'Seven persons are such that Allah will not look at them on the Day of Qiyaamat nor will He purify them nor will He include them among the learned and Allah will enter them into Jahannam. They will enter Jahannam first except for those who repent. As those who repent Allah will accept their repentance.
1. A person who masturbates.
2. A person who performs the act of sodomy.
3. The person upon whom the act of sodomy is performed.
4. A perpetual drunkard.
5. The person who hits his parents so much that they appeal for help.
6. The person who harms his neighbors so much so that they curse him.
7. The person who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife. (Ibn Katheer vol. 5 p. 458)
A person who masturbates becomes weak and thin, palpitation increases and his memory becomes weak. The digestive system is impaired and inflammation of the lungs occurs. One may also become anemic.
Impotency is the natural outcome of masturbation. A boy who has indulged in the habit of masturbation is not capable of marriage when he grows up. If he does marry, his wife hates him and often husband and wife may divorce. If the woman is pious, she will become depressed and if she is not, she will resort to unlawful acts.
A person who masturbates will suffer psychological problems and is liable to mental illnesses like forgetfulness, loss of memory, weak determination, preference for solitude, extreme shyness and fear, being sorrowful and possibly contemplate some serious crime or even suicide.
The act of masturbation is despicable. It is a grave sin and is unlawful. The noble Qur’aan commands the guarding of private organs. With the exception of sexual intercourse with one’s wife and what your right hand possess; all forms of sexual satisfaction are unlawful and these include fornication, adultery, homosexuality and masturbation, or any other sexual perversion. On the day of Qiyaamah, the perpetrators of such acts will suffer a dreadful punishment and will be deprived of the Mercy of Allah Ta’ala.
May Allah the most Gracious and Merciful protect and safeguard us and our children from this prohibition and make us among the righteous.
